Keys issued to occupants and users of University facilities, including offices, laboratories, rooms and other interior areas of buildings remain the property of York University and MUST not be duplicated. Keys are issued only to those persons who require access to space as part of their University responsibilities.
The purpose of the Key Control Program is to ensure appropriate control of keys in order to secure the property and assets of the University from theft or damage and to maximize the safety of members of the York community. It is an essential element of the University’s overall Access Control program
Under the direction of the Vice-President Finance and Administration, Security Services and Maintenance , work collaboratively with the various Faculties, colleges, departments and other operating units across the University in the issue, management and control of University keys.
